Haitian-led, haitian run.
This mobile clinic is led and run by Haitian healthcare workers providing free, high quality, care for their neighbors in Cite Soleil, Haiti. The mobile clinic serves 300+ patients living in Cite Soleil, Haiti. Haitian healthcare workers provide free treatment and checkups, focusing on patients with diabetes and hypertension. Treating these conditions saves lives.
This mobile clinic is entirely Haitian led and run. We do not believe in sending in expatriate teams. The U.S. team works in partnership and support to help keep the clinic financially sustainable and as medical advisory.
Sporadic care is simply not good enough.
We need to ensure patients have access to high quality healthcare and can get the medication they need. Year round. Always.
Before the mobile clinic, patients were only getting a tiny supply of their daily medicine (usually less than 30 days worth) once every 4-6 months. This meant that awful complications like stroke, diabetic ulcers, neuropathy, heart attacks, you name it, occurred often.
We are more than just a clinic. We take care of our patients, their families, and the community at large.
Reliable, local, and free care means healthier patients.
Each month, patients gather in the neighborhood school, community space, or places of business, for checkups and free medication provided by the local Haitian healthcare team.
The patients are seen by the nurse and physician, and then given their medications for the month as well as a hygiene kit, and food distribution. Patient education as well as lifestyle & hand-washing counseling are also provided.
